Making wishes come true
Sunshine Wishes Children’s Charity aims to grant wishes to young people, up to the age of 18, who are living with a serious or life-shortening illness or who have a mental or physical disability, the majority of whom come from families on a very low income. We believe that every child should experience happiness, and by granting young people some very special wishes, we can create happy memories through joyful experiences shared by the whole family.

Helping vulnerable children and families in need
According to research by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (Going under and without, December 2022), 75% of households in the bottom 20% of incomes are unable to afford food or other necessities like clothing or hygiene products. Whilst working in areas of significant deprivation and inequality, we have witnessed the high levels of suffering being experienced by families due to various economic issues. This exacerbates the fragility of their children, particularly where illness or disability are evident. Working in these communities has taught us that families need a variety of support to thrive or even just to survive.
Since the start of the pandemic, we have received countless requests from families and local community organisations, such as nurseries, social workers, and health visitors, which has meant the charity has assisted families in a wider range of ways. This situation has been intensified by the devastating cost of living crisis.

People's Postcode Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery. 
Our organisation received £5,000 from the Trust to fund ' Essential Item Care Packages ' to local families.
